Elissa Jane Diver graduated from the University of Brighton in 2012, with a 1st Class BA Hons. in Photography.
Elissa's interest in photography lies in the relationship that it has to what is perceived as reality. Making photographs can be a way of travelling to an in-between space between reality and illusion. John Blakemore called it the “no-man’s land between the real and the fantasy”. Sally Mann wrote of the “nexus between myth and reality”. In fact, a photographer discovers that the idea of reality and illusion being separate and distinct is questionable. Above all a photograph has the power to reveal what is unseen or hidden in the psyche of the photographer, in her imagination or unconscious.
